The Facts: A newly promoted manager of quality assurance found herself in her first leadership position. Although she was a highly skilled engineer, she never had to accomplish work through others. Conflict management, delegation and staff development were new challenges for which she was ill-equipped. Workshops did not help—they were too time consuming and impractical. Our coaching provided the solution to the question of “How can I ramp up in these critical areas while increasing departmental performance?”

The Work: The quality manager identified target areas where she needed to grow. The coach created a custom development plan that provided learning material for self study. Coaching sessions were used to trouble shoot personnel challenges and provide “just in time” learning.

The Result: The quality assurance manager successful integrated into her new role and excelled to higher levels of leadership in the company. Instead of drowning in new challenges and possibly fizzling out, she led the organization through critical changes to make the plant a profitable division.
